The project
The new administrative centre of Ronse is transforming the Grote Markt into a contemporary and sustainable public space.
The project combines the renovation of the historic town hall with a new-build extension accommodating a public service hall, a multipurpose room and administrative offices. The council chamber on the top floor offers panoramic views over the Grote Markt.
The centre is being realised as an almost energy-neutral building, entirely free of fossil fuels. The inner area will be depaved and landscaped into a climate-resilient urban garden.
The design creates a transparent and functional environment, serving the needs of the citizens of Ronse.
